Everyone is worried about the cost of fuel at the moment, its driving everyones costs up, from the price of a pint or a tin of beans to bigger luxeries like holidays. Accoridng to the latest research, we know that

  • Fewer Trips: Around 42% to 64% of UK drivers have admitted to reducing social, leisure, and non-essential travel to mitigate fuel costs.

  • Alternative Transport: Over 23% of drivers are replacing car trips with walking, cycling, or public transport to bypass the cost of fuel.

  • Holiday Getaways: Despite costs, major bank holidays remain extremely busy. For example, over 23 million car leisure journeys were predicted for recent late-May bank holiday getaways.

So how does it affect you when you need a car or boat or caravan moving? Well like eveyone else our business is affected by the rise in fuel costs, so we have raised our prices but try to keep them as fair as possible, so here are a few things to remember when you ask for a quote;

  • We have had to pay £2500 to have tachographs fitted in each vehicle (A legel requirment when you tow a combined vehicle weight in excess of 3500KGS) - NOT every transport provider will do this and you run a risk of your car / boat getting impounded, so please make sure that whoever you choose does this.

  • Our drivers all have a certifcate of proffessional competency. This is a qualification issued by DVLA for proffessional drivers and they undertake continual training throughout the year.

  • The cost of a new trailer can easily be upwards of £8000 for open trailers and over £15000 for enclosed trailers.

  • The cost of fuel has risen significantly this year.

So, when it comes down to the cost per mile, you need to take into account all of the above, plus wages for the team.

Of course you want to know what we will charge, so here is a guide price for you, between £2 and £3 per mile. This will depend upon what you as the customer need, the type of trailer, distance and numer of days it will take to get the job done.

We hope you have found that helpfull, if you want to ask us a question or book our services then please give us a call
